Excess manuals, free to good homes
« on: November 07, 2008, 10:38:49 PM »
Just got this in an email from Jeff Nilsson of the HNSA:

"I have been advised by MARAD,  that the large number of manuals that were removed from ships before scrapping, are going to be thrown away beginning in December 2008. They are being offered to those museums that might be able to use them. The inventories of the manuals have been put on the HNSA web site at http://www.hnsa.org/marad . These manuals are situated in three locations – Alameda, CA, New Orleans, LA, and Chesapeake, VA.  Your P.O.C. for these manuals is Ms. Barbara Voulgaris of MARAD at the following email address: Barbara.Voulgaris@dot.gov."

Take a look at http://www.hnsa.org/marad and take action if there is something your museum could use.

OOOOOOh  :o Time for shopping!!! Thanks for the heads up. It'll take some time to go through all of these to see what we can use.
