The docking plan would be interesting if it's what I think it is.  We were talking about getting running water and a sewage tank installed, since we're getting the galley to quasi-operational status, again.  Knowing where to hook up fresh water as if in port would help.

Also learned that there may be some great photos not currently known by our Memorial of the Batfish.  Sure wish we had someone we knew from that area who could look them up for us.  Anyhoot, just thought you might appreciate the update.

I have a DVD full of archive photos...some Batfish, some not.  I think Rick has a copy.  My friend Shawn Younger, who now works in the D.C. area got them for me.

I talked with my buddy and he is more then happy to help you out on this one and he asked me to send his contact information over to you all on Batfish so he can talk directly to you guys so that there are no miscommunications between all of us and aparently there is going to be a cost to getting the information that you need (no he isn't asking for money for him it is for the historical center to get the copies made)
So with that being said who do I send his email addy to on this one???

hey Darrin,

Is your guy in Washington still going to help us acquire copies of the original plans I sent you the info on?  These will be extremely helpful as they are the original builders plans with the 1950's changes/upgrades.

Just drop me an emial if you have questions.

B

Bradley,

Here is some contact information at D.C. that you may find interesting and yes I will send you his email addy here in a minute

"301-837-3510 - that's the number for military records.. the BATFISH people can call there and if they get to someone (they tend to be busy there) they can ask what they have.

Like I said earlier, the engineering drawings and plans are on the 4th floor of the Archives at College Park. They do have an online search for microfilm but the info isn't too extensive. So the fact that BATFISH found out the info is in Record Group 19 is helpful."

Here's his email addy   ssr481@verizon.net
Jim is a good guy who works with the Requin from time to time and also volunteers with the SS John Brown (Liberty Ship), he also has written a couple of books about submarines and is currently working on a book about the USS Catfish that was sank during the Falklands war
