Anyone Aware of this?
« on: March 06, 2008, 12:32:23 AM »
This is the conning tower of the USS Pintado SS 387.  It is located in Fredricksburg, TX at the Nimitz Naval Museum.  Anyone ever been there?  These photos are several years old, so I guess it's still there.

Not sure if this counts as a memorial or not...just mostly and FYI.

Hey Mark, isn't the Piranha's conning tower at the nimitz museum as well? Or is it somewhere else? I know it is at some museum

Not sure.  I took these photos maybe around fall of 2000.  I've not been back since.  I'm not even sure the Pintado is still there.  I'd have to do some research.  My brother lives in San Antonio and I may ask him if he's been there recently.

The Nimitz museum does not say it is there, but I remember something about the Piranha's conn at a museum.

George Bush gallery, eh?  If I remember right, a US sub picked him up out of the water when he was shot down near Chi Chi Jima.  We should hit the Bush's up for sub money . :)

I meant the Piranha's conn. Sorry. Maybe they got rid of the Piranha's and got the Pintado's
