That is one heck of a find, there arew a few 1946 drawings in there also so that is one heck of a find.. The gasket is probably going to be the least of your worries due to the bolts being counter sunk and having been in the water for 60 something years with varying amounts of water being on them over the years. Good luck Rich and I do know that IF you make these the Torsk crew is interested in at least oh I would say 10 or so of them so that they can replace the ones onboard and yes there are a few leaking now since the shipyard period..

Thanks to the help of the Turkish Navy, we have a drawing of the gasket from 1951 built ex-USS Tang, then TCG Pirireis.  Of course this could be different than what we have on USS Pampanito, but it looks very close to the dimensions of the USS Cobia modifications to her torpedo tube drawings.

We are hoping to open #1 tube on Pampanito sometime in the fall (it is above the waterline, inner door will be shut.)  We can then confirm the dimensions before creating a soft (aluminum) tool to mold the gaskets.

Does anyone have a crew member that speaks Turkish, particularly with a tech. background.  Most of this is pretty obvious from context and google translate, but a true Turkish speaker translating it would help.
