I just ran across this web page in doing some research for my newsletter - I have copied it into a spreadsheet to make it easier for me to look up things - the page is just a big tale so it goes into a spreadsheet real easy.
This appendix, prepared from the foregoing report, contains a listing of Japanese naval and merchant vessels sunk by individual United States submarines during World War II. The United States submarines are arranged in alphabetical sequence.
These assessments indicate that United States submarines sank 540,192 tons of Japanese naval vessels, and 4,779,902 tons of merchant shipping during the course of the war, the total accounting for 54.6% of all Japanese vessel losses.
