Boy they use weird numbers. It would take some getting used to.

Funny sounding yes, but you had to be very clear in what you said and what you heard.  Also we used the Joint Army/Navy Phonetic Alphabet  or radio alphabet developed in 1941 and was used by all branches of the United States military until the promulgation of the NATO phonetic alphabet (Alfa, Bravo) in 1956, which replaced it.


Not sure this was the exact one used during WWII
