More Dry Dock Pix
« on: February 16, 2011, 08:23:37 PM »
A few pix of work on Torsk today, from Jim Reeb.

The shutter over torpedo tube 5 has been removed and laid on the dock floor,  the access plate over tube 3 removed, and welding repair on the blanking plate over Main Ballast Tank 1 flood port is complete.

The area around the tubes, both forward and aft, have the greatest corrosion damage. The repair will take a few days to complete.

More pix as I get them!

Pix from today in the dry dock, courtesy of Jim.

First two are cleaning muck out of sonar dome.

Last is pressure testing main ballast tank after repair welds are complete.

More pix from dry dock, courtesy of Jim Reeb. We had a few inches of snow over night.

First shot is looking forward over Torsk's snow covered bow at Constellation's stern.

Second is Jim fueling the generator on Torsk.

The final (and my favorite) is Torsk from Constellation's stern.

Enjoy!
